Good heavens! Minister helps Regenda demolish a Lancashire church as part of new housing development

A Methodist minister has helped the Regenda Group to demolish his own church as part of a new rural housing development

Reverend Kevin Jones was delighted when planning permission was agreed to build the new homes, providing a new chapel and church hall was also constructed on the same site.

Regenda will construct a new place of worship as part of a wider project to build 14 homes for affordable rent and shared ownership at Hesketh Bank in West Lancashire.

“The old church had stood empty and neglected for years so it was both a joy and a relief to see demolition underway. At last we can look forward to a rebirth in a modern building which will better serve the community,” said Rev Jones.

Regenda has built a reputation for providing much needed affordable housing in rural areas, helping to keep village communities together.

The development of six apartments and eight houses at Hesketh Bank is expected to be completed by next spring.
