New housing development helps preserve village life

The smiles say it all. Our new Regenda Homes development at Banks in West Lancashire is a big hit with local families.

Wigeon Place is an excellent example of affordable housing helping to meet the needs of a rural community.

Developments like this enable people with strong links to the local community to remain living in the area, or move back to their roots.

Jessi Roberts spent five years away from her native village of Banks and is delighted to be one of the first to move in.

"I'm now back close to my mum, my dad, grandad, uncles, cousins and friends. My son Rory will also get to go to my old school, which I think is great," said Jessi.

Wigeon Place has also become the perfect place for residents like Sheila Banks, Saskia Wynne and her baby son Aiden.

A local lettings policy ensured first priority for the 10 two-bedroom houses, four three-bedroom houses and 4 two-bedroom apartments was given to people with strong local connections.

Working in partnership with West Lancashire Borough Council, Regenda Homes is keen to develop more housing like this which helps to preservce our rural communities.
