Regenda's growing reputation for regeneration

Green fingered residents are helping to turn their housing estate into an oasis of summer colour.

As part of the ongoing regeneration of the Limehurst estate in Oldham, Regenda Homes is landscaping communal areas, planting flower beds and encouraging families to grow their own food.

“Regeneration isn’t just about bricks and mortar it’s also about the important green spaces in between. With the help of our residents we can transform these unappreciated areas, bring them back into active use, encourage families to use them more and take greater pride in keeping them looking lovely,” said regeneration manager Chris Standish.

At a special Community Plant and Grow event residents were given tips about how to brighten up their gardens and advice on growing their own food and healthy eating.

Regenda’s maintenance and property company, M&Y, is carrying out landscaping work and building large wooden planters.

“Over the coming weeks you’ll see a big difference here. It’s more than just a splash of colour, this is regeneration in action,” added Chris.

Regenda is investing £5million in people and property at Limehurst, working in partnership with Groundwork and Oldham Council.
