Adults in Wardleworth looking for help and advice on training and job opportunities were hopping onboard the Regenda Group and Rochdale Borough Council 'Skills Bus' in February.
Alex Heyes, Regional Services Manager for The Regenda Group, said "We are delighted to be involved in this initiative to help local people get support and advice on training and career opportunities in the Rochdale area.
As a major landlord in the area, we have a vested interest in the local environment and are always looking at ways to improve our residents' living environment.
We worked with Rochdale Borough Council, Employment Links, Orchard Training Solutions and Hopwood Hall College to provide this opportunity to get up-to-date advice and training solutions."
The Skills Bus offered opportunities for local residents who are unemployed or would like to reskill in another profession.
A number of local residents visited the 'skills bus' to get informal advice and guidance from trained experts about opportunities in the local area. They got help and assistance on IT and employability skills, pathway to health, social care, customer service and office skills to name a few.
Funding for the Skills Bus was provided by a new government initiative "Responseto Redundancy" which aims to help re-skill local people to gain knowledge and preparing them for real job opportunities in the labour market.
Shamin Akhtar, a resident from the Wardleworth area said about the skills bus; "I gained a lot of information and I hope it will lead me in to employment."
