Liverpool

Sefton

  • Children: Use the Children’s Help and Advice Team (CHAT) at 0151 934 4013 (Monday-Friday) or 0151 934 3555 for out-of-hours emergencies. Visit the Sefton Safeguarding Children Partnership for guidance.
  • Domestic Abuse: Specialized support is available through the Sefton Women's and Children's Aid (SWACA) or the local helpline at 0151 394 1400. 

Wirral

  • Children: Report risks to the Integrated Front Door at 0151 606 2008 (9 am-5 pm) or 0151 677 6557 for out-of-hours support. Resources for parents are available at the Wirral Safeguarding Children Partnership

Knowsley

  • Children: Contact the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) at 0151 443 2600. The Knowsley Council safeguarding page offers direct advice for children and families. 

St Helens

  Cheshire East

  • Children: Contact the Cheshire East Consultation Service (ChECS) at 0300 123 5012 (Option 3) during office hours. For emergencies at night or weekends, call the Emergency Duty Team at 0300 123 5022.
  • Adults: Report concerns to the Adult Social Care Team at 0300 123 5010. Secure emails can be sent to lsab@cheshireeast.gov.uk by authorized professionals.

Greater Manchester

 If you are worried about the safety or welfare of a child or an adult in Manchester, you should contact the Manchester Contact Centre. This is the official gateway for all safeguarding referrals in the city.

  • Halton: Safeguarding is handled by the Halton Safeguarding Children Partnership and the Halton Safeguarding Adults Board.

National Support

  • Immediate Danger

    • Emergency Services: Call 999 for the Police or an ambulance.
    • Silent Help (Mobile): If you cannot speak, dial 999 and then press 55 to be transferred to the police. 

    Child Safeguarding (Under 18)

    • Childline: Free, confidential 24-hour support for children and young people. Call 0800 1111.
    • NSPCC Helpline: For adults concerned about a child's safety or welfare. Call 0808 800 5000 or email help@nspcc.org.uk.
    • CEOP (National Crime Agency): Report online sexual abuse or concerning communication with a child.
    • Missing People: Support for those who have run away or are missing. Call or text 116 000. 

    Adult Safeguarding

    • Hourglass (Action on Elder Abuse): Specialist support for the abuse of older people. Call 0808 808 8141.
    • Ann Craft Trust: Expert advice on safeguarding adults at risk and disabled children.
    • Care Quality Commission (CQC): Report concerns about the standard of care in hospitals or care homes at 03000 616161.
