My oh M&Y! Fresh new look for Regenda's repairs and maintenance company.

Specialist repairs and maintenance company M&Y has a fresh new look and ambitious expansion plans.

Thirty five years ago it was a small, family-run business. Today the growing St Helens-based company employs around 250 staff and expects annual turnover to top £17m.

M&Y, which is part of the Regenda Group, has just rebranded, revealing a new logo and revamped offices at the Bold Business Centre. Much more has been going on behind the scenes.

In addition to carrying out responsive housing repairs, an extra 80 staff have been employed to support an ambitious programme of planned maintenance. The next step will be a move into construction.

Executive Director, Gill Kelly, says the expansion has transformed the business which her father co-founded in 1980.

“Our teams are out there fitting new windows and doors, installing heating systems, bathrooms and kitchens in hundreds of homes. We understand the housing sector and its customers inside out,” she said. “Construction is next as we move into a new era of property development. We’re busy, busy, busy and really going places.”

Despite a whirlwind of change, Gill says the business grew from humble beginnings and is still run on old fashioned principles.

“It’s important that you don’t forget your roots. My dad’s mantra was ‘you’re only as good as your last job’ and that’s so true,” she added. “The company is expanding but the passion, drive and ethos is just the same. We aim to keep our customers happy by doing a good job first time.”
