Residents’ responsibility

It is your responsibility to resolve issues with:

  • Fleas
  • Bed bugs

If there are fleas or bed bugs in your home, please contact your local council’s environmental health team, who can advise on the best treatment.

Insects:

  • flies
  • ladybirds
  • beetles
  • ants
  • spiders

If there are insects in your home, please contact your local council’s environmental health team, who can advise on the best treatment. You can also purchase. Over the counter fly spray and ant powders from shops and supermarkets.

Bats:

Bats are a protected species. If there are bats roosting in your loft space, please contact your local council’s environmental health team for help and advice.

Damage caused by pests

Regenda is not responsible for any damage to your belongings that is caused by pests. We recommend that you have home contents insurance to protect your belongings against any damage.

Recharges

You may be recharged if it can be proved that an infestation was caused by a your action or lack of action. This could include allowing waste to build up either inside or outside you home.

Regenda’s responsibilities

Regardless of the type of property you live in (house, flat, supported accommodation, etc), we will respond to all reports of:

Vermin:

  • Rats
  • Mice
  • Squirrels

Insects:

  • Wasps
  • Cockroaches
  • Silverfish
  • Woodlice

You can report issues with pests to us on 0344 736 0066 to report. We will ask our pest control contractor, Acorn Environmental, to attend. Acorn will contact you directly to arrange an appointment.

Please note that it can take a few visits from Acorn to fully get rid of vermin. Acorn will lay bait and fill any holes that vermin are using to get into your home.

Bees:

Bees are a protected species. If there are honeybees at your property, we will contact Acorn Environmental who will arrange for the hive to be relocated.

Birds:

If you have birds in your loft space, please contact us and we will arrange for Acorn Environmental to attend. They will contact you directly to arrange an appointment. Nesting birds cannot be removed until all fledglings have left the nest. If you would like any additional advice, please contact your local council’s environmental health team.


We will carry out any repairs that are needed to prevent pests from returning to your home.

If you live in a property with internal and/or external communal areas, we are responsible for completing and treating all infestations to inside and outside communal spaces.
