Despite the government placing a cap on energy bill charges, the amount we’re paying for gas and electricity, for food and fuel and for everyday items has increased.

Our Financial Inclusion Team provides support on a wide range of financial issues, including:
• Benefits advice and help (online, form filling - telephone applications etc)
• Benefit appeals (including sanctions)
• Specialist support with Universal
• Credit (including making a claim, changes in circumstances)
• Grants to help with urgent needs such as rent arrears, or essential household items
• Support with energy debts (gas, electric and water)
• Budgeting advice
• Advice on opening a bank account
• Signposting to the appropriate advice provider for free confidential debt advice
• Our Financial Inclusion Team secured £2.5 million in additional benefits and grants for Regenda Homes residents in 2021/22 - this was money that our residents didn’t know they were entitled to.
Supporting Tim
Our Financial Inclusion Team recently helped Tim*. Tim was struggling to pay his rent and household bills due to his benefits reducing. We provided financial support and helped him to successfully apply for disability benefits, which meant that he was entitled to an increase in Housing Benefit. Tim’s new benefit amount was backdated, and a £2,220 payment was made to him. We also secured a grant to clear his rent arrears in full and Tim is now £199 better off each week.
