How M&Y's generous donation has fixed it for construction apprentices
A generous donation will help to equip a new generation of construction workers with the tools of their trade.
St Helens-based M&Y Maintenance and Construction has donated £1,000 worth of new tools to be used by apprentices and trainees who are busy learning a range of new skills.
The tools were presented to the Fullagar Construction Skills Centre in St Helens which provides valuable training for around 100 apprentices every year.
M&Y’s Director of Operations, Kevin Moses, said: “Every year in the run up to Christmas we like to make a seasonal gesture. In the past we’ve asked our suppliers to make donations but this year we decided to make the presentation ourselves. For years M&Y has been using Fullagar’s to train some of our apprentices and provide up-skilling to our trade operatives, we value the great work they do and it’s really nice to be able to give something back.”
M&Y, which is part of the Regenda Group, presented the tools to Maurice Fullagar, a director of the family-run company which supports apprentices from all over the country.
“We have a reputation for taking apprentices and trainees above and beyond what is required to pass their qualifications. Generous donations like this help us to continue passing on new skills and equipping workers for a life in construction,” said Maurice.
