Social Tenants Access to Information Requirement Scheme

What is STAIRS?

  • STAIRS stands for Social Tenants Access to Information Requirements
  • It’s a new Government scheme designed to make landlords more transparent, open, and accountable to the people who live in their homes
  • STAIRS will help you understand more about how Regenda Homes is run, how decisions are made, and how we look after your home and neighbourhood

What’s Changing and When?

From 1 October 2026

  • We’ll begin publishing key information about how we manage our homes.
  • This will include things like:
    • How we’re governed and how decisions are made
    • How money is spent
    • How we manage repairs, safety, and building quality
    • How our homes are performing
    • Our approach to housing management and estate services

This information will be available publicly so you can easily see how we’re working on your behalf.

From 1 April 2027

You’ll have a new right to request information directly from us and we’ll have a duty to respond within 30 days.

You or your representative (such as a solicitor or support worker) will be able to request details about things like:

  • Anti-social behaviour
  • How we handle complaints
  • Our policies and procedures
  • Health and safety compliance
  • Rent and service charges
  • Repairs, investment, and property improvements
  • Energy efficiency
  • Stock profile
  • Estate management

These requests are all about helping you understand how your home and services are run. Some information may need to be withheld if it’s confidential or would break the law, but we’ll always explain why if that’s the case.

How We’ll Support You

As we get closer to the launch, we’ll share:

  • A clear publication scheme showing what we publish and where to find it
  • A simple online form for sending us information requests
  • Alternative ways to request information if you prefer to contact us by phone, email or in person

Our aim is to make everything as open, accessible and easy to understand as possible.

We’re Here to Help
