Demolition work set to start on Westview estate

The demolition of homes in Fleetwood as part of Regenda Homes’ multi-million pound investment into the town is set to get underway.

Regenda Homes has instructed Bradley Demolition to carry out the work, which will start with homes on the Westview estate.

Phase one will cover properties on Crake, Rede and Martindale Avenues.

The homes were marked for demolition after independent surveys found that they would not be fit for purpose in the long term and future repair works would not be possible.  Other homes on the estate will benefit from remedial works to improve them, including external wall insulation (EWI), which has recently been installed to homes on the Flakefleet.

Alex Andani, Director of Asset Management at Regenda Homes, said: “At Regenda Homes we pride ourselves on creating sustainable communities where our residents can lead healthy, safe and prosperous lives. Unfortunately, the deteriorating condition of some properties meant that the homes would struggle to meet our standards in the future.

“We have worked closely with residents affected, including those who own their homes, to help them find suitable new accommodation and we are now in a position to begin the demolition phase.

“This work is part of our wider vision for Fleetwood, which we believe will unlock the potential of the town and its communities.”

Regenda Homes will be holding an open event for residents who wish to find out more about the demolition project.

On the day there will be representatives from Regenda Homes and Bradley Demolition.

The event takes place at Westview Community Centre, 2 Eden Avenue, FY7 8DH from 10am to 2pm on Monday 19 November
