Exciting energy efficiency updates at Torentum Court.

£700k investment and energy efficiency works are underway at our Fleetwood Independent Living Scheme, Torentum Court.

What are energy efficiency works?

There are things that can make your home keep the heat in better and make it cheaper to heat your home. These are things like:

  • External wall insulation

  • Loft insulation

  • Solar panels

  • Upgrading ventilation

What work are we doing at Torentum?

All homes have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to say how energy efficient that property is. All homes are graded from EPC (the best) to EPC G (the worst.)

Before we started the work, homes at Torentum Court were EPC D.

Any EPC lower than an EPC C means that a home is not energy or cost efficient – so you’re spending a lot of money on heating and energy that doesn’t keep the home warm.

At Torentumwe’re working to improve the efficiency of the homes by:

  • Installing solar panels

  • Installing new loft insulation

  • Upgrading ventilation.

Whilst completing the energy efficiency work we have also upgraded other elements of the scheme as part of our 2-year investment plan for the scheme, including:

  • Replacing the roof

  • Replacing all fencing

  • Installing new communal doors

  • Replacing the cladding

  • Upgrading the telecare system and door entry access

  • Refreshing internal and external decoration

  • Removed redundant garages and bin stores.

Who is doing the work?

Ecogee is an energy and construction specialist company providing green energy solutions across the North West. They are completing the work at Torentum Court.

Ecogee is part of The Regenda Group.

Does my home need energy efficiency works doing?

We measure the EPC rating of your home every 10 years, or at the start of every new tenancy.

If we think your home might be below EPC C, we will get in touch with you

What do our residents say?

Mrs Goulding told us:

The work has been absolutely fine, we’ve had no issues with anything. My home is already warmer and quieter.”

The energy efficiency improvements are part funded by Warm Homes: Local Grant in collaboration with Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.

All energy efficiency work at Torentum will be finished in December 2025 and following the work we will be completing refresh of the communal lounge and hallways.
