Fire Safety in Blocks of Flats

Regenda Homes logo

In light of the recent tragic fire at Grenfell Tower in London, we are aware that you will be concerned about fire safety within your own particular block.

Regenda Homes takes the safety of all its residents very seriously.

Whilst the cause of the fire at Grenfell Tower is not yet known, the media focus has been on the cladding used to improve the appearance and thermal insulation of the block.

At Regenda Homes, all blocks undergo an annual independently carried out Fire Safety Risk Assessment. All recommendations and improvement works are delivered to meet or exceed approved building regulation standards and safety practices.

We undertake routine inspections in conjunction with local fire and rescue services, who are also invited to carry out visits to familiarise themselves with the building.

Communal fire alarms, where fitted, are tested weekly and all emergency lighting is checked every month to ensure it is working correctly. Any repairs are carried out immediately.

We currently operate ‘stay put policies’ in some of our properties due to the nature of the building. If this is the case, clear signage will be in place and visible. The Regenda Group will be discussing this further with colleagues at the local fire and rescue services to review this approach.

Once the results of the Grenfell Tower fire enquiry are available, we will respond to any further safety recommendations or requirements.

If you have any further concerns please contact Regenda Homes on 0344 7360066.
