Get in the fast lane thanks to a once in a lifetime traineeship

Young people in Merseyside are being given the chance to push their career into the next gear and take the trip of a lifetime with the launch of a new traineeship programme, #runtheworld.

Designed and delivered by Liverpool based MD productions and Alder Training, #runtheworld will see learners develop the skills required to gain employment or start their own business, receiving tailored training and learning from a range of leading UK entrepreneurs, whilst planning the delivery of a worldwide sporting event.

Aimed at school leavers aged 16-18 who are not currently in education, employment or training, the 18-week course will develop learners into future business leaders plus they will gain qualifications in Maths and English.

Those who show the highest levels of commitment, attendance and motivation will put themselves in pole position to secure a fully-funded place on the international trip, where they will see their work brought life on one of the biggest stages in the world.

During the programme, the cohort of budding entrepreneurs will have the chance to work on their very own business venture. They will then pitch their ideas to a panel of business leaders as part of a large-scale celebration event in March 2019.

The learner behind the winning proposal will receive an intensive support package and the resources to launch their very own business to the corporate world.

Louise Harris, MD at Alder Training, said: “This really is a once in a life time opportunity for learners and we are delighted to be working in partnership with MD Productions to deliver the project.

“MD productions expertise in performing on Britain's Got Talent three times as well as at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2016 and 2017 means that our young people are in for a truly unforgettable experience.

Miguel Doforo, Director at MD Productions, said: "#runtheworld will give young people the chance to discover and learn everything they need to know about business, from finance and budgeting to marketing and PR.

“We look forward to announcing further details on the worldwide sporting event later in the year, which will be a once in a lifetime opportunity."

Potential learners can get a flavour of what the project has to offer at the #runtheworld showcase on Thursday 7 June from 4pm-6pm at the Tapestry Building, 68-76 Kempston Street, Liverpool, L3 8HL.
