Important information for Universal Credit claimants

If you claim Universal Credit, you will have a ‘to-do list’ in your journal. It’s really important that you regularly check this and keep it up to date.

We’ve seen on increase in the number of Universal Credit claims that have been cancelled due to incomplete actions in journals. If your claim is cancelled and you need to create a new claim, this won’t be backdated, meaning you’ll miss a payment. This could mean that you will fall into rent arrears.

If your Universal Credit is stopped due to outstanding actions in your to-do list, contact Jobcentre Plus and ask them to re-open your claim. If you’re ever unsure and would like any help or advice, you can call us on 0344 736 0066 or email info@regenda.org.uk
