M&Y Maintenance & Construction handover £2.1 million development to Regenda Homes and Redwing

We are delighted to announce that M&Y Maintenance & Construction, a subsidiary of the Regenda Group, has completed a scheme of 14 properties in Macclesfield in a £2.1 million development for Regenda Homes and Redwing.

The Green Street scheme will be handed over to housing provider, Regenda Homes for affordable rent.

Regenda Homes operates 13,000 properties across the North West region, including social and private rent homes and shared ownership properties; the organisation also offers Independent Living schemes for older people, and supported accommodation.

A range of the properties within the Green Street development will also be available through shared ownership from property agency, Redwing.  Redwing specialise in sales, lettings, and property management.

Close to the heart of Macclesfield, in Cheshire, the 14 properties were built using traditional block and brickwork and feature concrete roof tiles and dormer window views across the town. The properties are located near key transport links including Macclesfield Railway Station and the Silk Road. Each property was designed with energy efficiency in mind including electrical vehicle charging points.  Additional works on-site included the installation of a car park to serve the new development and residents.

The scheme consists of eight three-bedroom houses and six one-bedroom apartments in a two-storey block.

The developments were delivered amidst COVID-19 restrictions, although the M&Y team worked tirelessly to ensure it was a safe and secure working environment for not only the staff but the local community.

Gill Kelly, Managing Director of M&Y Maintenance and Construction said: “This scheme adds to M&Y’s growing reputation and track record in developing new affordable homes for communities across the North West. I’m sure those moving in will be very happy in their new homes.”

Martin Davies, Director of Development at The Regenda Group said: “Regenda have brought this scheme forward in support of the growing focus at government and regional level to tackle small brownfield sites and to deliver mixed tenure developments. This scheme meets critical demand for affordable rent and home ownership in the area.”
