M&Y answers DIY SOS call in Manchester

Staff from the Regenda Group’s repairs and maintenance company, M&Y, are giving up their spare time to work on a huge BBC DIY SOS project in Manchester.

Around 25 staff are working with TV celebrity Nick Knowles and his team refurbishing 62 properties for ex service personnel who either have disabilities or are homeless.

It is hoped they’ll help to complete the work to renovate a row of derelict houses in less than a week.

The work will then be screened next month on BBC1 as DIY SOS:The Big Build in two hour long episodes. The programmes are expected to attract audiences of around six million viewers.

“I’m so proud of our M&Y staff. They’re giving up a whole weekend and their evenings to work on the DIY SOS project which will help really deserving ex service personnel and their families,” said M&Y’s Managing Director Gill Kelly. ”Because they are generously giving up their own time, services to our residents will not be affected.”   M&Y staff on site at the DIY SOS in Manchester
