Don’t fall for direct debit reimbursement advice

We’re aware that there is advice being shared on Facebook around getting Direct Debit payments reimbursed, including for rent payments.  

The advice suggests that if you pay rent by Direct Debit, you can contact your bank to claim the funds back.   

However, if you do this, your account will be in arrears. This is not money you’re owed - it will come out of your rent account, and you will be responsible for repaying it.  

If you’re considering doing this, please speak to us first to avoid falling into rent arrears.
