STAIRS: Helping You Get the Info You Need

We know how important it is for you to stay informed about your home and how things are managed. That's why the Government and Regulator of Social Housing is looking to introduce STAIRS.

What is STAIRS?

STAIRS stands for Social Tenants Access to Information Requirement Scheme. It's a new rule that will help you find out important information about your home and us, your landlord.

When STAIRS comes into force we, as your social landlords, will have some new responsibilities to help keep you informed:

  • We’ll provide detailed and relevant information to you or your representatives (like your solicitors) whenever you ask for it.
  • We’ll also publish and promote a scheme that lists the types of information you can request .

This means you can ask for details on things like:

  • Anti-social behaviour
  • How we handle complaints
  • Our procedures and performance
  • Health and safety measures
  • Rent rates
  • Property conditions, repairs, and improvements
  • Service charges
  • Stock profile
  • Energy efficiency
  • Estate management

The Government has not stated the date that STAIRS requirements will be implemented yet but we are starting to make changes in preparation.  Once we know the ‘go-live date’ we’ll share all the details on how we’ll meet these new requirements. Plus, we’ll have a handy web form on our page for you to make requests easily.

And don’t worry, you can still ask for information through any other way you usually contact us. We’re here to help!
