Working together to support the Limeside community

Together, we walked several streets on the estate, speaking with residents about any housing concerns and sharing information about upcoming children’s holiday activities being delivered locally by SPARKS in partnership with Avros FC. These conversations help us understand what matters most to the community and make sure people know what support is available.
One of the key issues raised recently has been rubbish building up near Avros Football Ground and drifting into the surrounding streets. Residents told us it was becoming a concern, so as part of the walkabout we carried out a joint litter‑pick to clear the area and dispose of the waste safely.

It was great to see partners, staff and residents working side‑by‑side, a small action that makes a big difference to how the estate feels.
This type of partnership working sits at the heart of our Greater Manchester Neighbourhood Offer, which focuses on joint visits, community engagement and regular checks of shared spaces. By joining forces, we can identify issues more quickly, follow up faster, and keep neighbourhoods like Limeside safe, clean and well supported.
