Margaret Pierre

Margaret has worked within the voluntary sector for over 25 years. She was CEO of High Trees Community Development Trust in Lambeth for 10 years until 2019 when she left to start her own community development consultancy. She is currently a Co-CEO of ML Community Enterprise which runs a youth and community centre in one of Lambeth's most disadvantaged Wards.

A skilful and resourceful leader, she has experience of driving strategic vision and implementing change, and brings with her a network of VCS, statutory and corporate relationships. Margaret has extensive experience in organisational governance and development; during her time at High Trees, she transformed the organisation into one that is robust, sustainable, and vision-led, with income and reach trebled by the time she left the organization. Her work with ML Community Enterprise is also focused on transformation and sustainability.

Margaret is a trustee for the National Communities Centre (Trafford Hall) and has recently stepped down as a member of the Steering Committee of Lambeth’s Black Thrive initiative which seeks to address systemic issues which have contributed to poor mental health outcomes for individuals from black communities.

Margaret’s passion and drive is to support people and communities to achieve their potential. Described as an inspirational facilitator, she is a coach and a trainer. She is currently undertaking a Masters in Consulting and Leading in Organisations: psychodynamic and systemic approaches at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.
