Gill Kelly joined the group in December 2009 when her family business M&Y was acquired by the Regenda Group. Gill was Finance Director at M&Y for 15 years before she joined Regenda and over that period she developed M&Y into a £2.5m turnover responsive repairs contractor delivering repairs and maintenance for several housing associations.
Gill merged the existing internal contractor and the private business into one competitive commercial service provider. M&Y has since grown into a £20m turnover business and has successfully diversified into delivering planned maintenance contracts and construction services, alongside responsive repairs, voids maintenance, gardening and specialist services. M&Y has significant growth ambitions for the next five years, to deliver repairs and construction services for external customers.
Gill’s strengths are delivering growth and diversification, and ensuring services are customer focused, with a dynamic commercial attitude.
Gill has experience of preparing winning bids to secure third party contracts, transferring staff under TUPE and transforming teams into high performing business units. She has experience of delivering services strategically, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and compliance with health and safety legislation and good practice. Gill introduced Investors in People and international quality standards to M&Y and supports the benefits of standardised, quality business practices and first class people management.
Gill is an ambassador for women in construction, local chambers of commerce and disability coalition, and maintains relationships with local schools and community partners to promote construction. Profits from M&Y are invested in social purpose projects, and help to provide work placements, apprenticeships and employment skills for local people.
