Carer’s Allowance
Carer’s Allowance is a benefit that is paid to people who are giving regular care to someone who is disabled. It is a taxable benefit. You do not need to be living with or related to the person you care for and you will not receive more if you care for more than one person.

-
You are not in full time education
-
You spend at a minimum of 35 hours per week caring for someone with a disability
-
You don’t earn more than £139 per week
In addition to the above, the person you are caring for must be in receipt of one of the following:
-
Attendance Allowance
-
Constant Attendance Allowance
-
The care element of Disability Living Allowance at the middle or higher rate
-
The daily living element of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
-
Armed Forces Independent Payment.
